This section of the website is dedicated to our nursery for babies and children aged up to 4. We follow the EYFS and Development Matters guidelines, with a curriculum based on the child's innate desire to play and explore. When a child plays they learn through first-hand experience – by actively “doing” they develop a concrete understanding of the world. We have designed the learning environment at Flexi-Minder to inspire the children to lead their own play experiences and our skilled practitioners then plan high quality activities to support and progress the children's learning and development. Teaching is based on children's individual interests, learning style and stage of development.
We focus on the seven areas of learning as outlined in the EYFS. They are:

To support your child to be happy and feel safe and secure during their time with us, all children attending nursery are assigned to a key group and a key person. Being a part of a smaller group will help your child to build up strong relationships with the other children and adults in their group. Your child’s key person is your first point of contact at Flexi-Minder. If you have any questions or concerns regarding their care or development please speak first to the key worker. Our staff work very closely with key children to ensure that they are happy at Flexi-Minder and are receiving the best possible care. Your child’s key person will observe and assess their progress through the EYFS, carefully planning activities and play based opportunities to challenge and extend their learning. We record your child’s progress in a Learning Journey and you are able to have a look through it at any time.
