During a time when children are spending increasingly longer periods of time indoors and in front of screens, Forest School offers our children regular opportunities to develop their confidence, motivation, problem solving, creativity, and social skills in an environment free from technology. Using the endless resources found on the woodland floor, children engage in practical, hands on learning experiences that nurture their holistic wellbeing and development. This is in addition to sessions meeting the curriculum objectives of the Early Years Framework and National Curriculum.
During a Forest School session you are likely to see a lot of child lead play in the woods with the children exploring and experimenting with the environment. You will also see children learning practical, life skills such as tying knots and using tools. You will observe story-time and singing around the campfire and adult lead teaching designed to spark your child's imagination and awaken their creative spirit.
